JOB SUMMARY:
The Public Relations & Communications Coordinator is responsible
for raising awareness and advocating for QAAP-AQPL within the field
of recreation and leisure.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Attends all executive committee meetings.
• Actively participates in executive committee
decisions.
• Has the right to vote on executive committee
decisions.
• She/he helps to develop/revise association
policies.
• Co-signs cheques written by the Treasurer
for expenditures (as required).
• Attends all general meetings.
• Promotes membership for QAAP/AQPL at
colleges, universities and private sector institutions that practice
therapeutic recreation and leisure.
• Maintains active membership in CTRA.
• Develops and maintains other public relations
tools such as pamphlets, membership forms, entertainment and outing
forms etc.
• Gathers all entertainment and outing
forms to create the respective binders.
• Creates the associations’ newsletter
“QAAPtion” on a quarterly basis, encouraging members to
participate in its content.
• Distributes “QAAPtion” at
general meetings and forwards to Secretary to be sent to all active
members.
• Gathers information via internet, research
media, networking, educational facilities etc. for current employment
postings and forwards to all active members.
• Helps to maintain and update the associations’
web site.
• Carries out all other duties required
to fulfill the position
